Real Madrid has added another UEFA Champions League trophy through a slender victory over Liverpool in Paris.
The English club looked determined to lift the trophy in the early stages of the game as they kept knocking on the doors of the Los Blancos who had keeper Courtois to thank.
This marks a second defeat for Klopp by Real Madrid after losing 3-1 in UCL final 2018 at NSK Olimpijs’kyj stadium in Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine.
Only Juventus (5) has lost more UEFA Champions League finals than Liverpool (3) and no manager has lost more finals in the competition’s history than Liverpool’s Klopp (3).
This win makes it fourteen UCL trophies for the Los Blancos, twice as many as any other side in the history of the competition.
Real Madrid, the winner, is followed by AC Milan with 7, Liverpool and Bayern on 6 with Barcelona completing the top 5 with 5 trophies.
Meanwhile, the Reds will need to go back to Anfield and prepare for a fresh season.
Congratulations to Real Madrid for lifting the trophy 14 times.
