The government of Zimbabwe has stepped up in their welfare of its workers by providing an employer’s liability Insurance.
The initiative which is targeting government employees reporting for duty between 31 Marh 2020 to 30 June 2021 is entitling a grant of US$650 – US$1000 at ZWL equivalent for any member which tests positive for COVID-19.
In addition, the government will also settle medical aid shortfalls for the members.
The news were confirmed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Information, Nicky Mangwana through his twitter account.
“Govt employees reporting for duty between 31 March 2020 – 30 June 2021 are now covered by an Employer’s Liability Insurance. Grants to be paid to members who test COVID19 positive (ranging from ZWL equivalent of US$650-US $1000). Govt will also settle medical aid shortfalls,” wrote Mangwana on his twitter handle.
