Liverpool Offloads Shaqiri

Premier League side, Liverpool has confirmed the departure of the Switzerland international, Xherdan Shaqiri.

The 29 year old forward has left Liverpool on a deal believed to be worth £9.5m ($13m) as he joins Tinotenda Kadewere’s French Ligue 1 side, Lyon .

The Reds confirmed the news in a statement: “Xherdan Shaqiri has today completed a permanent transfer to Lyon after three years with Liverpool.

The Switzerland international finalised a switch that will see him embark on a new chapter in his career with the Ligue 1 club.”

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, who say the deal is worth 6m euros plus a possible 5m euros in add-ons.

The former former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan attacker enjoyed a well decorated stay at Anfield since his debut in 2018. He won the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

The 96-cap Switzerland international, who featured for his country at Euro 2020, scored eight goals in 63 games for Liverpool – six of which came during his first season on Merseyside.
