More Trouble for Engonga After Sex Scandal

Baltasar Engonga Arrested for Allegedly Recording Over

A huge scandal is rocking Equatorial Guinea after explicit videos allegedly featuring Baltasar Ebang Engonga, head of the National Financial Investigation Agency, were leaked.

These videos show Engonga engaging in inappropriate activities with many women, including some who are married to top government officials.

The videos, found during a corruption investigation, have caused a lot of anger and the government has taken quick action.

Engonga, who is related to President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has not spoken publicly about the allegations.

But the videos, which have spread on social media, show him in compromising situations with many women, including the wives and relatives of important officials.

The number of women involved, almost 400 in total, and their connections to the government have made this scandal even more shocking.

Some of the women reportedly featured in the videos include the President’s sister, the wife and daughter of the Director-General of Police, the wife of the Director of Presidential Security, and many others.

The videos were discovered during a corruption probe into Engonga’s alleged misuse of public funds. Investigators found around 400 explicit videos on his computer.

While it’s unclear how the videos were leaked, they spread quickly on social media, causing a lot of discussion and criticism.

In response, Vice-President Teodoro Obiang Mangue suspended Engonga and launched a full investigation. He warned that any government officials caught engaging in inappropriate behaviour at work would be fired.

The Vice-President also condemned the circulation of the videos, saying they had damaged the country’s reputation.

Authorities are now looking into whether Engonga may have spread diseases through these encounters.

The chief prosecutor announced that they want to see if Engonga knowingly put the population at risk of disease.

After the videos leaked, the Vice-President ordered telecom companies to limit the spread of the videos. This has caused internet disruptions, especially for downloading images in Equatorial Guinea.

The Engonga scandal has shaken Equatorial Guinea to its core. The seriousness of the alleged misconduct, the involvement of top officials, and the government’s swift response show how serious this situation is.

Further investigations are expected to uncover more details and possibly reveal more government impropriety.
