The Gweru headquartered tertiary institution, Midlands State University (MSU) emerged as a debate powerhouse as it lifted the 2020 Speak and Solve Initiative (SASI) debate trophy.
Posting on website, MSU wrote that “True to its pacesetting nature, the Midlands State University has once again emerged as a debate powerhouse among national universities after lifting the 2020 Speak and Solve Initiative (SASI) Debate trophy“.
University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences were the first and second runners up of the debate competition.
The SASI National Universities Debate Competition is an annual event organised by SAYWHAT with the aim of creating awareness while promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights and young people.
This year’s SASI competitions were held in Harare on the 23rd of November.
Among the ten universities which took part in this year’s edition, it was MSU and UZ who reached the finals of the competition which MSU emerged the winner.
