Ancelotti’s Everton was to good for the hosts Tottenham Hotspurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.
Ancelotti gave his three midfield signings, James, Allan & Doucoure debuts, a combination which promised to be solid in the midfield, keeping Mourinho’s (The Special One) amery at bay.
Both teams lost good opportunities in the first half, but non could break the deadlock which saw the match going to half at stalemate.
In the 55th minute, the Toffees snatched a lead through their striker Calvert-Lewin who converted a hilarious header from Digne’s well taken free kick.
The Special One could not turn around his fortunes though he introduced Ndombele and Bergwijn in his midfield.
The Toffees wasted three good opportunities through their Brazilian forward, Richarlison who could have rubbed salt on Tottenham’s wound.
The match ended 1 nil in favour of Everton who will be hosting the newly promoted West Brom on the 19th of September whilst Mourinho’s side will travel to Southampton on the 20th.
