One of the rebellious former ZANU PF youth Godfrey Tsenengamu is in police custody on allegations of inciting public violence. This was confirmed by the ZRP through their Twitter.

“The ZRP confirms that Godfrey Tsenengamu is in Police custody and will appear in court on 10th October 2020 in relation to incitement to commit public violence charges as defined in Section 187(1) (a) as read with section 37 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 09:23.”

Tsenengamu becomes one of the first ZANU PF loyalists to be arrested on the allegations of inciting violence.

This arrests follows several others associated with the 31 July calls for a national demonstration against purported corription by government officials, close friends and relatives.

The Archtectures of this mass demonstration under the #ZANUPFMustGo were Jacob Ngarivhume, Hopewell Chin’ono and others from the civil societies. Tsenengamu was among the first ZANU PF loyalists who threw a bomb against Tagwirei, a close ally of HE, ED Mnangagwa accusing him of corruption.

The Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ), an anti-corruption pressure group led by expelled ZANU PF youth league leader Godfrey Tsenengamu pledged its support to Jacob Ngarivhume’s call for peaceful protests on July 31.

They first issued a statement calling for unity among Zimbabweans to fight the scourge of corruption among the country’s political elite.

Following our Press Conference on the 26th of June 2020 in Harare under the theme ‘Zimbabwe At Crossroads – The Way Forward’ where we urged and challenged fellow citizens to start dialogue and conversations from the 27th of June to the 6th of July 2020 around what has to be done in order to stop the on-going bleeding, corruption and looting in Zimbabwe, we are happy to give feedback that citizens have been engaging in different ways and different platforms and there is consensus that we have to ACT as citizens to extract ourselves from the current crisis which is affecting everyone across the divide.

After engagements, conversations and consultations with fellow citizens and progressive organisations, we have agreed that we have to ACT and the day is 31 JULY 2020

This, therefore, sets aside the initial proposal for ACTION from the 7th to the 10th of July 2020.

The Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ) also known as the GREEN REVOLUTION being a non-partisan economic movement of the united citizens that fight against corruption, looting and demands transparency and accountability is, therefore, redirecting all progressive citizens and stakeholders towards the 31st of JULY as announced by fellow citizen, esteemed brother and leader Mr Jacob Ngarivhume.

We are the people let’s get it done.

A united people knows no defeat. We are stronger together. Victors do not bicker.

It is My Gokwe Media’s assumption that the arrest of Tsenengamu is associated with this public incitement as did Ngarivhume, Chin’ono and Job Sikhala who are on bail among others.

However, unlike others, Tsenengamu was “fully aware of the imminent risks and dangers that come with this decision and also the possibilities of unpleasant outcomes to my health, safety and life in the short and long term.

For the past 3 months Tsenengamu was on the hideout but he ended up submitting himself to the police for the reasons he clearly stated on his Twitter page earlier on.

Hello Zimbabwe

A blessed morning to you all.

Today Friday the 9th of October 2020 at 0630 I have came out and walked in at Harare Central Police Station to engage with the police authorities at Harare Central Police Station’s Law and Order section as I seek to physically make enquiries with the ZRP in a bid to understand and seek closure to what has been happening to me, my family, relatives and friends for the past 3 months.

I am fully aware of the imminent risks and dangers that come with this decision and also the possibilities of unpleasant outcomes to my health, safety and life in the short and long term.

However, I trust and believe in God the Almighty as the final and ultimate authority above all, for He has a plan and reason for everything that comes our way. Let His Will be done.

All I ask for from you are your prayers.
