Dean Smith’s lads who were hosted at King Power Stadium this evening were all cheerful as they thanked on loan, Chelsea attacking midfielder Ross Barkley who helped them to kill two birds with one stone.

Aston Villa who last won four consecutive matches in the 2010/11 season visited Leicester with an upper hand, having starting the season on a high note, wining all three matches including a 7-2 victory over English Champions on the 4th of October.

Today’s match seemed balanced with the hosts enjoying a 1% ball possession upper hand also making 13 more passes than Aston Villa’s 395.

Both teams had a fair chance of opportunities with Leicester having 5 shots on target while vistors had 4 but none could break the duck.

The goal earned Aston Villa 3 points and also helped the team to break a nine year record of failing to win four consecutive opening matches of the season.

The win took Aston Villa to the 2nd position with 12 points, one point behind Everton and still has a game in hand as they did nit feature for their Matchday 1 schedled match.

The loss for Leicester left the team on the 4th position, 1 point behind Champions and 2 superior goals advantage above Arteta’s rejuvenated Arsenal.

Aston Villa will be hoping to make it 5 wins in a raw on the 23rd of October when they will be hosting Leeds United.
