Chelsea who were in a signing spree during the transfer window were too far from matching English Champions, Liverpool as they were humiliated in their own Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea who seemed very solid during the first half, lost control of the match in the 45+1 minute of play when their defender Christensen fouled Mane who was rushing for the ball.

The defender was shown a yellow card which was later reviewed by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to be a red card which reduced the Blues to 10 man for the remainder of the match.

Second half became a nightmare for the hosts who leaked the only 2 goals of the whole match in just four minutes.

In the 50th minute of play, Mane converted a fabulous header from Liverpool striker Firmino from the right side.

Four minutes later, the doubtful Chelsea shot stopper, Kepa Arrizabalaga mistakenly passed the ball to Mane in the box as he wanted to clear it to Jorginho and Mane made best use of the opportunitytaking the Reds to a 2 nil lead.

Though Chelsea tried to chase for a consolation, Liverpool seemed more solid and stable in the midfield, thanks to the introduction of the recent signing Thiago who seemed he knew the reason why he was signed.

in the 73rd minute, Chelsea earned a peanlty which seamed an opportunity to console the Big Spenders but his Bruno Fernandes like penalty kick style was saved by Alisson, before he was substituted by boss Lampard.

Chelsea will visit Bilic’s side West Brom next week while the Champions will be hosting Arteta’s rejuvenated Arsenal.
