The reigning English Champions, Liverpool are set to clash with Markel Arteta’s Arsenal today at 1730 hours at Wembley shield for Community Shield, an English Premier League Season curtain raiser.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the match will be played behind closed doors though the English Football Association had initially showed intentions of allowing limited number of fans.

Klop’s side are boosted by van Dijk’s return following a facial injury which forced him off during their friendly encounter against RB Leipzig midweek.

The club captain Jordan Henderson and center back Joel Matip are doubts for the match while their right back, Trent Alexander-Arnold is in contention to play today having missed the pre-season training camp in Austria.

On the Gunners’ side, the new signings attacking player Willian and defender William Saliba may debut boosted by the return of number 1 goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Unfortunately, Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, Gabriel Martinelli and Shkodran Mustafi will not feature for the match.

Both teams have won the trophy 15 times since its inception as Charity Shield
