English champions, Liverpool have agreed a £25m deal to sign European Champions, Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara on a four year contract.

The 29 year who have spent seven season with the Germany side since joining in 2013 and featured in their Champions League victory over PSG is set to put on number six shirt at Anfiled Stadium.

The Spanish will be the second arrival for Klopp having secured the Greek fullback Kostas Tsimikas’ signature last month.

The £25m deal will have an initial £20m which will be paid over the length of the midfielder’s contarct while the remaining add-ons fee of £5m will depend on Liverpool’s success which includes winning the Premier League as well as Champions League success.

Hansi Flick, Bayern Manager described Thiago as “an exceptional player who had huge success here for seven years. He’s a great person and an exceptional professional.”

The midfilder started his carreer at Barcelona and almost joined Manchester United under the guidance of David Moyes but ended up joining the Bundesliga side instead.

He won seven Bundesiga titles, fouyr German Cups, the Club World Cup as well as the Champions League with the German Champions.
