Mamelodi Sundowns who walked into today’s last season match against Black Leopards tallying with Kaizer Chiefs on 53 points, though three goals behind have scooped another ABSA Premiership Trophy to make it three successive league trophies in a row.

League leaders Amakhosi took the lead against Baroka in the 39th minute through the Zimbabwean Striker Khama Billiat to take them to 59 points also widening the goal difference to 4 goals. The Baroka did not allow Chiefs to break their 5 year trophy deadlock as they equalized in the 59th minute.

It was unfortunate for Kaizer Chiefs that Sundowns responded by threshing Black Leopards 3 nil through their Star Maboe who made a hat-trick (45+5′, 53′ & 90+2′).

The winby Amasandawana sent them to three successive league trophies in a row, with the trophy being the Captain Kekana’s 7th league title in his career.

Sorry to Kaizer Chiefs who were about to lift the trophy, something they last did in 2015, as they are to wait for possibly another year.

Meanwhile, stubborn Chipezeze’s outfit, Baroka FC have escaped relegation playoffs through their draw to Kaizer Chiefs whilst Chigova’s Polokwane City have been relegated.
