Former Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain has joined his former team mate, David Beckham’s MLS club Inter Miami after his contract with Juventus was mutually terminated.

The Argentine joined Juventus from Napoli, for an Italian record fee and the world’s third most expensive transfer (by then in 2016) of £75m.

Higuain and Beckham once played together at Real Madrid in the 2006/07 season and the former will be linking up with former team mate at Juventus, Blaise Matuidi who also signed for Beckham’s club a month ago.

Higuain responded, “I think it will be a beautiful experience in my life.”

It’s what I was looking for – a new experience, a new league and a beautiful city. I feel good, I feel whole as a player,’ he added.

I’ve been watching MLS for many years because of my brother,” refering to his brother Federico Higuain who plays for DC United.

It’s always been a league that interested me that I’ve looked at fondly and after talking to my brother and my family, I think it’s a good time to come here.

Higuain who never quite lived up to expectations scored 66 goals in 149 games for Juve as well as having loan spells at AC Milan and Chelsea.

Last month, new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo announced Higuain would soon be leaving the Turin club.

He was a great champion, a great player but the cycle is over,” ex-Italy midfielder Pirlo said.
