Barcelona captain Lionel Messi who was pushing for move away from Barcelona has confirmed that he will stay at the club 2020/21 season.

The Argentine Striker confirmed the development on an interview with Goal.com as mentioned that he wanted to leave the club which he blasted its management as disaster.

I wasn’t happy and I wanted to leave. I have not been allowed this in any way and I will stay at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute. The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster.

The Argentine believed his contract’s clause had an option for him to leave the club for free but that was not the understanding of Barcelon Management.

However, Messi could have taken the team to court but Messi refuted: “I would never go to court against Barca because it is the club that I love”.

“Barça gave me everything and I gave it everything,” added Messi.

Meanwhile, Barcelona which is hoping for a better season after seeing  a troublesome one last year is on an overhaul process.

Big names like Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal are on the list for those who will leave the club with Rakitic already resigned by his former club Sevilla.
